If you’re just getting started on your tattoo removal journey, you will have questions. Here are the most commonly asked ones.
Will you be able to remove my specific tattoo?
Yes! Our state-of-the-art Picoway technology means that we can eliminate all tattoos, even the extremely complex tattoo colours that earlier technology could never have managed. Maybe you sought tattoo removal in the past without any success. Try Picoway today to recognize the difference!
In most cases, we eradicate tattoos using our Picoway lasers. Our therapists will advise you on what type of removal and result is achievable for your individual situation.
Does the position of my tattoo matter?
Yes. The further the distance from the heart your tattoo appears, and the denser the ink, the longer it will take. Your ankle tattoo, for example, will take longer to remove than one on your chest. This is because there is better blood circulation closer to your heart.
Can I lighten my existing tattoo for a coverup?
Yes. Before you set out to begin a new tattoo, we can prepare the area for your tattooist. This can involve lightening the area where the old tattoo was for a coverup style tattoo. This ensures that the old design doesn’t creep into your new one. Three to six treatments will lighten an existing tattoo. Our trained therapists coordinate directly with your preferred tattoo artist to ensure that we prepare the area for the best possible result.
Will I end up with a scar?
No. That’s because PicoWay® lasers pulse at such an incredibly fast speed that they break down ink without actually affecting your tissue. There is simply not enough stagnant time to burn the skin. You might notice a little redness, some swelling, blistering or scabbing after treatment, but with the correct aftercare, there will be no scar.
How long will my tattoo removal session take?
Laser treatment seldom takes more than just a few minutes. However, this will hinge on the following: the size of the tattoo, intricacy of the design, and colour. At most, you will be in and out of the actual procedure within fifteen minutes.
How many sessions will I need?
To fade or remove a tattoo, multiple sessions will be required. These will be spaced out between six to eight weeks apart. Black inks will normally react the fastest in terms of breaking down. Vivid colours will take longer. We will assess the ink colour on your individual tattoo, the amount of ink, and the location of your tattoo. Your therapist will then present you an idea of how many sessions you will need in your treatment plan. You might decide to fade for coverup or to go for a comprehensive removal. You can expect to be quoted between 5 to 12 sessions for your treatment plan, depending on your choice.
Will tattoo removal hurt?
Most of our clients have indicated that the tattoo removal pain was about the same as it was when they were having a tattoo applied. It is our goal to ensure that the procedure is as pleasant as possible. We will give you pre-procedure suggestions, such as using non-aspirin products (aspirin or ibuprofen can contribute to bruising after therapy). We likewise will cool your skin before, during, and after the procedure.
What precautions should be taken throughout this process?
During your first visit, your skin’s reaction to the laser will be tested to determine the most effective treatment. Immediately following treatment, cold compresses may be applied to soothe the treated area if needed. A topical antibiotic ointment may be recommended. In the first few days, take care to avoid scrubbing the area or using abrasive skin cleansers.
During the procedure:
Optional Numbing application on arrival along with LED light therapy to assist in cell recovery. Five minutes of cooling the area to constrict the blood vessels before commencing. Treatment Time is 2-25 minutes depending on size, with little to no absolutely no downtime.
Post-treatment expectations: Mot client never experience any of the following:
Day 1-2: Mild pain in the area, swelling, bruising, under the skin pin point bleeding or redness.
From Day 3: You might develop bruising, itching, scabbing, dryness on and around the area, blistering or redness.

What can I expect after tattoo removal?
The treated section may be a little red or swollen. Your skin may appear mildly sunburned, for up to five days. You may notice some bruising or blistering. Pinpoint bleeding is a possibility, and this is associated with certain types of colours, increased ink density, or specific skin types. However, this is purely superficial and heals well.
An antibacterial ointment will be applied to the treatment area. Keep the treated area clean, with ointment supplied by the clinician.
You can take a shower, but please ensure that you keep the treated area clean and dry for 5-7 days. Also, do not scrub this area while your skin is in the healing stages. Quoted recovery times will depend on the extent of the treatment and your capacity to heal. Redness and skin sensitivity may continue for several weeks. You might notice skin discolouration and alterations to skin texture in the treated area, which will gradually improve. Results may not become apparent until we have completed several treatments, so please be patient.
Keep in mind that after tattoo removal, your skin may look different from how it looked prior to having the tattoo. We offer free skin revision treatments to clients who have started their treatment with us in order to correct any textural changes.

Will tattoo removal cause my skin to scar?
Using unique PicoWay technology, the laser is only pulsed on the skin for a few Pico-seconds – this is equivalent to trillionth of a second. In the unlikely event that your skin is broken during the healing stages (e.g., from bursting a blister, or removing scabbing), the chances of textural changes to skin increase. If skin textural changes occur, Plasma Fibro blasting or Skin Needling can return the skin to near to normal tone and appearance.
